Release Manager

Location: New York, NY

Responsibilites:

  • Manage, lead and coordinate all aspects of release management for multiple projects
  • Design, implement and administer software build and deployment systems and environments
  • Support and improve our tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management
  • Responsible for managing the overall performance and elivery of large/cross-functional application releases
  • Work with development teams to adopt configuration management and build procedures
  • Manage the build and deployment of our proprietary technology solution releases
  • Conduct internal management reporting on release schedules and plans
  • Idenitfy and define improvement opportunities in the release management process
  • Managed the implementation and roll-out of process improvements
  • Work closely with development, QA, operations staff and executives to understand build requirements

Required Knowledge / Experience:

  • At least 5 years experience in full lifecycle software development
  • 3+ years technical project management, release engineering, QA or development experience
  • 2+ years experience in a release management role
  • Experience working through the planning, creation and deployment of a technology/solutions based products
  • Preferred experience with various development and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, waterfall, etc.)
  • Experience scheduling and managing code deliverable into production
  • Experience determining environment requirements for development, testing, and production areas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with subject matter experts from various disciplines
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills and process oriented
  • Leadership and action oriented

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
