SQL Developer
Location: New York, NY
Responsibilites:
- Work closely with the application architects, Java software engineers and implementation managers to advise on all aspects of database design, development, and deployment
- Develop and modify reports for internal and external customers using complex SQL queries and stored procedures
- Resolve database production related issues
- Modify, expand and update database jobs, code and objects to support requirements
- Assist in design and implementation of tools for internal users
- Work with Quality Assurance Team to develop and implement software test plans
- Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies
Required Knowledge / Experience:
- Experience developing technology solutions in a MS SQL Server / DB2 / Postgres / Java environment
- Strong SQL coding skills
- Proficient in the usage of relational and multi-dimensional database models within a business application
- Experience in migrating data between applications
- Strong SQL database design and performance optimization skills
- Knowledge of SQL Server security
- Server side monitoring for the resources usage and performance experience
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix scripting languages– shell, Perl, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Application Development experience is preferred
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
